Thank you V-Day Activists For Our Most Successful V-Season to Date!

V-Day would like to thank all of our V-Activists for the most successful V-Season to date! Over 5,400 V-Day events took place in 2010, in over 55 countries and in all 50 of the United States. Over 1,300 groups working around the world to end violence against women and girls in their communities have benefited from your hard work and dedication and thanks to you the V-Day Spotlight Campaign on the women and girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo has gained worldwide local media attention and is now stronger then ever! In 12 years, V-Day has raised over $75 million and benefited more than 11,000 organizations.

We are so honored and proud to collaborate with all of you and we ask you all to continue to stand with us, continue to work to raise awareness and funds to end violence against women and girls everywhere. We look forward to working with you next V-Season 2011 and encourage everyone to join us!!

VICTORY: American Academy of Pediatrics Rescinds FGM Policy Statement

V-Day is pleased to announce that following public outcry from Equality Now and V-Day, along with individual activists, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has rescinded the controversial new policy advocating for "federal and state laws [to] enable pediatricians to reach out to families by offering a 'ritual nick'", which would include making an incision to a girl's clitoris.
