15th Anniversary V-Season Kicks Off
Today, with the launch of V-Season 2013 we officially enter our 15th year, and we are reminded how incredible and instrumental you have been in creating this worldwide movement.
Over the past 14 years, you have raised $90 million for thousands of groups working on the ground to end violence against women and girls. Every V-Season (February through April), you have created beautiful, impactful, empowering events on your college campuses and in your communities, theaters, churches, and high schools. You've made V-Day one of the most well-respected and highest rated organizations, and you've educated millions about the issue of violence against women and girls.
You have been bold and strong, but the work is not yet done.
V-Day was created with one mission - to end violence against women - yet despite numerous and incredible victories along the way, today one in three women will be raped or beaten in her lifetime - that's one billion women.
We are now at a point where we must escalate our efforts and take an uncharted and ambitious path to end the violence. In 2012, with your help we launched One Billion Rising, and in 2013 we are asking you all to RISE and take it to the next level.
Since premiering several weeks ago, One Billion Rising's call to action video has been viewed and shared by over 100,000 people and everyone from Alicia Keys to Jane Fonda is talking about it. Part of RISING is also sharing the campaign with others, we need YOU to spread the word and then help plan events. If you haven't seen the powerful video yet, go here to watch and share it.
For V-Season 2013, V-Day has a wide variety of events, from theatrical productions to film screenings and workshops, and all events will be a part of ONE BILLION RISING. You can apply to organize one, some, or all of the following:
Theater:
The Vagina Monologues
A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer
Any One of Us: Words From Prison
Film Screenings:
Until The Violence Stops
What I Want My Words To Do To You
Workshops:

We look forward to this V-Season! Strike, Dance, Rise!
